SGV Grant Policy
To support scientists for ongoing education, the SGV has 10'000 CHF (incl. 3000.- from ScNat) at disposition. This can be changed by the SGV board according to state of the finances (minimum = money at disposition from ScNat).
Criteria to get a grant
- be or become SGV member
- a report about the course for the next SGV Newsletters
- per person and per year CHF 500.- for CH / 1000.- for EU / for other destinations CHF 1500.-
- only 2 grants per research group per calendar year
- course with an importance for the laboratory animal science, husbandry, breeding or experimentation or for the 3Rs. Short-Term Scientific Missions enabling young scientists to visit other laboratories, for instance to learn a new technique could be also supported
- only continuing education will be supported
Application
- Applications shall be sent from the senior scientific responsible to the president of the SGV education committee per email at least 4 weeks before the meeting.
- The application must include:

Decision bodies
- Applications for SGV meetings and transfer of a grant to another person: the president of the SGV education committee.
- Applications for other meetings: the SGV education committee and transfer of a grant to another course: the SGV education committee.
Transfer of the grant to another person
- Announcement to the president of the SGV education committee at least 3 weeks before the meeting with all necessary information.
Transfer of the grant to another meeting/course
- same procedure as for a new application.
